4-Hour Class covering:  The new Wisconsin concealed carry law, use of force & self defense laws.  Firearm Safety: Rules, gun familiarization with revolver, semi-auto, safe cleaning and storage.  Equipment: Guns, ammo, holsters, accessories, clothing.  Modes of carry, Holster options, Dynamic and reality of shooting and fighting with a gun.  Awareness and Safety!  Weapons retention and basic tactics, drawing from holster, cover and concealment, movement and more.

My WI Concealed Carry Course Outline

 I've been working on developing a instructional course designed as an introduction to Wisconsin's new concealed carry law (which will be signed into law on July 8th.)  We have been contacting various venues in the Madison area, and soon will contact those beyond Madison.  Within a short time I should be able to schedule classes.  Anyone interested in being notified of upcoming classes can send me an email at:  personalguntrainer@gmail.com.  I will send complete course details to you!

Purpose:  The purpose of this course is to give an introduction to individuals who are considering or who wish to carry concealed weapons for their personal protection and security pursuant to Wisconsin’s new concealed carry statutes.  The course is designed to get participants to actively THINK about all of the issues and considerations that must go into a decision to carry a weapon for protection.

Topics include a basic introduction in the following areas:

1) Important provisions of applicable gun laws, Wisconsin’s concealed carry law, open carry, use of force and self-defense laws.  Post-shooting actions and what to expect. 

2) Firearm safety:   including the rules and procedures of safe handling of handguns including revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, safe cleaning and storage of firearms, firearms and children.

3)  A discussion of guns, ammunition and equipment related to concealed carry.  Selecting a firearm or evaluating a firearm for defense.  Modes of carry, consideration of clothing and concealed carry.  The logistics of everyday carry of a concealed weapon.

4) An introduction to defensive combat shooting:  Awareness.  Dispelling the myths about shootings and use of a gun (the reality of using a gun), an introduction to the gun handling, shooting and tactical skills needed to prevail with your handgun during a violent encounter.
