How are those tough New Jersey gun laws working?

Keeping guns out of the hands of criminals?

Man shot to death outside Camden, NJ liquor store

Oh, by the way, Camden has been named the most dangerous city in the U.S. three out the past ten years.

  1. New Jersey AKA "New Germany" I am a gun shop owner in NJ. Lucky me! The have more stupid rules than one can imagine. Here's a classic... You can have a pistol grip on a pump shotgun, but not on a semi auto shotgun. WTF? NJ also put a cease and desist order to all distributors banning the sale of gun powder to any gun shop unless they have a permit to sell it. My muzzle loader customers are going nuts. I applied for the permit this week. $300.00 and who knows how many weeks to process it. How are you supposed to make a living as a gun shop owner here?

  2. Here is another good one. You can buy hollow nose bullets and use them at the range, but if someone breaks into your home and tries to kill you, you can't shoot your attacker with hollow nose bullets. If you do, you will go to jail on a second degree crime (NJ's Felony Charge). PS: The reason they are banned in New Jersey is because long before bullet proof vests were worn by cops, they were labeled cop killers. Now that 99% of the cops wear bullet proof vests, the whole theory has reversed. As you know.. Full metal jacketed rounds are more likely to pierce a protective vest than a mushrooming hollow point round. I know because I was a Police Officer / Rangemaster and tested it for my own curiosity. Just the tip of the iceberg.

  3. Thanks for the comments Joe. The Brady Campaign claims that New Jersey has the #2 best gun laws in the country. And that "sensible gun laws work." Work for what? To make it difficult for someone to lawfully protect one's self, family and business-- while doing nothing to inhibit criminals. People who know nothing about guns making gun laws is similar to me directing a brain surgeon how to perform surgery.
